  Testing

For testing I used DisplayMate Monitor Testing and Calibrating Software. This is what I found.

There was a horizontal pincushion problem. By this I mean the top and bottom of the screen are not straight. Unfortunately, I could not find anything to correct this in the controls.

Geometry of the display was excellent.

Colors were pure.

Excellent luminance.

There were problems with the Screen Regulation test. The left and right of the monitor would move whenever images were expanded or brightness applied.

The sharpness of the monitor was good.

Color registration/convergence was good. There were problems though with misconvergence on the far left of the monitor.

No signs of streaking or ghosting

Conclusion

While this monitor does have some flaws these are mostly common occurrences among CRT monitors. The biggest noticeable problem was the Horizontal Pincushion affect which was noticeable whenever you looked at the title bar of an application. It would be nice to include a horizontal pincushion adjustment in the OSD, but unfortunately I did not see anything that would correct it.

Bottom line, at an average price of around $180, the monitor is well priced, and I would highly recommend that you take this monitor into consideration if you are looking for a good mid-level monitor.
