What is FireWire?
Some of you may not be familiar with what FireWire is, so I thought I would give you a quick synopsis of it.

FireWire is a serial bus interface, which was developed by Apple. It provides really fast data transfer rates up to 400Mbps. It is a powerful and popular item for A/V people who need the speed for image and video editing. Like USB, it allows you to connect up various devices like CDwriters, camcorders, HDTV's, VCR's, printers, hard drives, etc. It is hot swappable and supports up to 63 devices connected to its bus. Like SCSI, the devices are chainable, but unlike SCSI they do not have to be terminated.
