Software
The module comes with 1 floppy with software for win98/95. I have not tried to use this puppy on NT/Win2k so don't ask me if it works.
The "drivers" are actually pretty simple. When the module is used in bootable form, the drivers have no effect. When the hot-swappable mode
is used, a new icon appears on the system tray that lets you "stop" and swap the hard drive currently in the bay, just the same way as stopping
PCMCIA devices before they are removed.
Pricing
When I originally got mine, it was $49 at CompUSA a while ago, but I know they still sell them. The unit comes with the module and one "tray"
and additional trays sell for something like $20 each (not sure, it's been a while).
I've seen non-hot-swappable units for as little as $20, so you might want to look around and see if you can find cheaper versions of this
thing from different manufacturers.
