 :: NETGEAR RT314 Router

Basic Setup
Included with the RT314 is an Installation outlining the steps required to setup the Router. After reading them over I would say that they seem to be pretty good at outlining all the steps required to set it up.

The RT314 Router has built in webpage manageability allowing you to configure the router through IE 4.0 or Netscape 4.0 and up. To do this you simply type in the factory default IP of the router, which is 192.168.0.1, from one of the computers on your local network. After typing this in, you should receive an authentication box requiring you to login. The default password for the RT314 router is username admin, and password 1234. After entering this you should see the following screen.

From here you have the option of choosing "Wizard Setup" to use the built-in wizard to setup the router. Here are some pictures of the steps in the wizard.

You can also choose "Maintenance" to view the IP of both the local port and WAN port of the router as well as the current firmware.

You can also view current packet statistics of both the LAN and WAN ports.

Last but not least you can select "SUA/NAT" to configure the routing of different incoming ports to specific computers on your internal network. For example, say you have a web server set up on one of your internal computers on your network. You would simply configure port 80 to forward to the IP of the computer hosting your website.

If you are wondering about the "Advanced" link, it seems to have no purpose at the current moment. It is not linked to any page that I could find.
