Ease Of Use:
Now days when
you buy an expensive, or non-expensive electronic gadget you might
as well be a expert on the new toy you just bough cause you can't
figure it out. I believe that is a problem with new electronic toys
that we buy and when we just want to use it. Most people done want
to spend time like myself reading the manual on it for an hour just
to make it work.
The makers
of the Rio Volt has made it one of the easiest MP3/CD players to
use. I had read a little bit about it before hand, and my buddy
has a Rio Volt so he has told me about his, but in no time at all
I had a CD full of mp3's in the player and was listening to my favorite
music on my way to school. (Yes I still have school)
Moving through
the song list with the directional pad is easy, and the +10 button
lets you quickly skip ahead 10 tracks at a time so you don't have
to go song-by-song searching for the song you want. The LCD shows
the song title and artist, embedded from ID3 tags that can be attached
to digital audio files; it displays the song's filename if ID3 info
isn't present. Along with this there is some very weird, and unusual
dancing figures at the bottom of the LCD.
As I was playing
around with the Rio Volt I had noticed the program function key
lets you choose only by track number, not by song name. You can
set up random or repeat play for the entire disc or a single directory,
but there's no support for playlist files at this time, maybe in
another firmware update.
