Overclocking
For overclocking I used the overclock applet included with the
Nvidia reference drivers. To access this though, you will need to
hack the registry. For simplicity, I have supplied a registry
file that you can download and double click on. When it asks
if you're sure you want to add the information into the registry,
just hit "yes." After successfully importing the file
into your registry, you can access the applet by going into your
advanced display properties and then selecting the Geforce2 GTS
tab and selecting Additional Properties, then the Hardware Options
tab.

The screenshot shown above displays the default Core Clock and
Memory Clock settings on the Visiontek Geforce2 Ultra.
I was able to overclock the Visiontek Geforce2 Ultra to 315/500
and have it be stable for the 3Dmark tests. Unfortunately though,
when I got to the Q3Arena testing the game froze several times so
I had to reduce it down to 310/495.
For overclocking I applied just simple cooling techniques. I had
two Titan Slot Coolers, one on top of the video card and one on
the bottom, both facing the card sucking air off of it and out of
the case.
The temperature of the card was about 110'F on the PCB of the rear
of the card where the processor sits. This was with no overclocking
or cooling applied directly to the card. When I applied cooling
to the card I reduced it to 104'F.
When I overclocked the card, the temperature was around 130'F after
a 2-hr period of continuous benchmarking with no cooling applied
directly to the card. After applying cooling to the card, it was
116'F on the PCB of the rear of the card.
For taking these temperatures I used the awesome Raytek
MiniTemp 4. I will have a review up on this awesome product
soon.
