 :: WindTunnel Plus Case

The Product
This case is a very well made average case. It includes the breakout 5 ¼ and 3 ½ metal covers and removable 3 ½ cage. It features slide on/off covers that are held in place by screws at the rear of the case. After the sides have been removed, the front of the case can be removed for easy installation of the 80mm fan.

The blowholes on the side of the case are very professionally done. They are laser cut to form a perfect circle, none of that garage/backyard handwork like with some cases.

The case comes well ventilated by default. It features two rows of holes (one top, one bottom) on each side of the case for air to pass through as well as two rows of holes on the rear of the case.

With all three fans installed, the case is very quiet. The temperature of the case ranged from 90-95' F both inside and out. To take these readings I used the very easy handy Raytek MT4.

Last but not least, the bestt thing I liked about this case was the fact that it had the power button built on top of the case and not on the front. I don't know how many times I have accidentally hit the power button on the front of my case whenever I am moving it around. This idea is a great one and helps eliminate those accidental power offs.

The WindTunnel Plus however can be improved in some areas. It doesn't feature a slide out motherboard tray for easy motherboard installation nor does it feature thumbscrews on the rear of the case for easy access.

Conclusion
Coolerguys WindTunnel Plus is a great case for any gamer or overclocker that is looking for some good case cooling and doesn't have the time or tools to cut holes out of a standard case to install the extra fans. The WindTunnel Plus is really easy to setup, install, and comes with the great top-mounted power button. Howerver at a price of $129.95, I would expect a lot more features out of this case. If you had read an earlier review that had done on the Addtronics 6896A, you would see that the Addtronics case had a lot more features then the WindTunnel Plus and cost only $4.05 more. If the price was lower, I would have no problem recommending this case, but at $129.95 I would recommend looking around for a possible better deal.
