When I had first used the mouse I was quite pleased with how it
reacted, and felt. Wow, this mouse feels good as it sits in the
palm of your hand and it feels that you have it under control. I
have somewhat of big hands, and this mouse was incredibly comfortable
to me as it fit into my hand perfect, and was a great feel. Microsoft
has put a little more effort into there design of the mouse so that
it is more ergonomic to peoples hands so the arched shape provides
support in a natural, comfortable position.
Microsoft has updated its IntelliEye Technology a bit further,
by replacing your old-fashioned mouse ball. And now this technology
Captures 6,000 frames per second, it delivers up to four times the
performance of other optical mice. This superior tracking speed
translates into smooth, accurate cursor performance.
The new IntelliEye Technology that Microsoft has incorporated
into there IntelliMouse Explorer, it will not only expand your use
of the mouse in many ways, but it will free the desktop clutter
and extra cables. The two-channel common radio frequency reduces
interference and allows you to place the receiver out of sight.
Handy battery status indicators let you know when your batteries
need to be replaced.
Microsoft has developed Power Saving Technologies that conserves
battery life. Intelligent Touch is this technology that engages
the optical technology when you touch the mouse and puts the mouse
into "sleep" mode when you remove your hand. Intelligent
Illumination allows the mouse to illuminate brightly on a dark surface
and dimly on a light surface. Intelligent Surface Detection senses
when you lift the mouse off the surface below and responds by placing
it into "sleep" mode. When your not using the mouse, it
goes into is "power saving state" and thus saving your
batteries from going dead within a weeks amount of time.
The new IntelliEye Technology allows you to customize your mouse's
button however you want. You can reassign all of the buttons - including
the wheel button - to perform a command or open a file or Web page.
You can even specify different button commands for different programs.
Alternately, you can record a keystroke, such as CTRL P (Print),
and assign it to any button.
Accelerated Scrolling is a new feature with the IntelliEye Technology
that allows you to move through documents, and webpage's quickly
without having to click on the scroll bar. Accelerated scrolling
reacts to how quickly users can roll the wheel, allowing for faster
movement through webpage's, and documents. The increase scrolling
speeds is on an average of 28%.
